Materials
3mm vegetable-tanned cowhide, waxed linen thread, solid copper rivets at the handle roots. Copper rather than steel because copper deforms rather than shearing, and a sheared rivet takes leather with it.
Care
It arrives stiff and pale and will slouch within a few months of use. Balm twice a year. Water spots will show and then blend in; a soaked bag should dry slowly, away from heat, stuffed with paper to hold its shape.
